Study of maternal mortality at a tertiary care centre

Background: Pregnancy is not a disease and so pregnancy related death almost always preventable. High rates of maternal deaths still exist in places, particularly underdeveloped communities. The objective was to identify the mortality ratio our tertiary care centre discuss about causes for deaths.Methods: present study prospective observational on conducted department Obstetrics Gynecology, VDGMC, Latur, Maharashtra, India during period 18 months from January 2019 June 2020.Results are expressed frequencies percentages.Results: Maternal (MMR) 335.85 per 1,00,000 live birth. Among direct obstetric deaths, there were 58% hypertensive disorder cases,25% APH puerperal sepsis cases, 8% embolism cases. indirect 61% anemic cases,39% liver cases,33% DIC 11% heart disease.Conclusions: widely accepted as key indicator health socioeconomic development. Each stage should be positive experience, ensuring women their babies reach full potential well-being.
